JOPLIN, Mo. – The beauty of a slate roof is now eligible for federal energy efficiency tax credits through one of TAMKO Building Products’ Lamarite Slate composite shingles “cool colors.”
One of TAMKO’s cool colors, Terra Cotta, was just named an ENERGY STAR-qualified product, making it potentially eligible for up to $1,500 of American Reinvestment & Recovery Act (ARRA) federal tax credits. Before purchasing ENERGY STAR products or other material, contact your tax professional for complete details and to see if you qualify. Last year, TAMKO made its popular Lamarite Slate composite shingles available in “cool colors” of Terra Cotta, Pale Olive, Cool Grey, Natural Sand and Almond Shell. All of the colors are rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC).

Lamarite Slate Cool Color Shingles are available by special order in 5-, 7- and 12-inch widths and are listed for UL Class A fire resistance, Class 4 impact resistance and come with a 50-year limited warranty.
