The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) announced the results of the Association’s prestigious Accident Prevention Contest. In 2009, 98 facilities participated in the contest. 

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) announced the results of the Association’s prestigious Accident Prevention Contest. In 2009, 98 facilities participated in the contest. ARMA’s top award is the ARMA President’s Award, presented to the top ranked company within its category (determined by number of labor hours worked). This year’s President’s Award winners are:

Group A: Over 300,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year
GAF Materials Corporation, Savannah, Ga.

Group B: 200,000 to 300,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year

Group C: 100,000 to 200,000 Labor Hours worked Per Year

In 2007, ARMA introduced the ARMA Award of Excellence, which is presented to each category winner demonstrating the lowest 3-year averaged ARMA Index. The 2009 Award of Excellence winners are:

To better quantify achievement in the safety arena in 2007, ARMA set a new benchmark for its Certificate of Achievement by requiring that a facility needed to lower its ARMA index by 25 percent from the prior year.
