Owens Corning Preferred Contractor R-Squared Roofing and Repair was hired by the building owner to spell out “GO CATS” in honor of the Kentucky Wildcats by using different Owens Corning Duration Series Shingles.

The project (in photo) is an apartment building in the Aylesford Place neighborhood of Lexington-Fayette, Ky., that rents to University of Kentucky students and is within a few blocks of the campus.

The main part of the roof was done in Driftwood and the Sierra Gray color was used for the “GO CATS” lettering. The job took about a day and a half longer because of all the design work. The building owner, who rents to a lot of student athletes, did the project because he wanted to promote the university and create a fun visual landmark from the air.
