GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. - Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics announced that both of their Glass Mat manufacturing plants have been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification by the International Organization for Standardization. ISO 9001 is an international quality standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a worldwide federation of national standards bodies representing some 130 countries.
The plants located in Charleston, S.C. and Russellville, Ala., manufacture glass mat products made of non-woven wet-formed fiberglass sheets bonded together with a binder system for a wide variety of building materials industries. With these recent awards, now all of Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics manufacturing plants in North America are ISO 9001 certified.
In order to receive the certification the Charleston and Russellville plants had to undergo rigorous inspections to demonstrate their comprehensive quality management system. This system includes processes for customer service, recordkeeping, adherence to customer requirements and continuous product improvement. The certification was conducted by QMI – SAI Global, North America's leading management systems registrar. For more information, visitwww.sgtf.com.
