CertainTeed Corporation unveils Symphony, a sophisticated new roofing shingle formed with the texture and contours of real quarried slate. Available in the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., markets, this engineered polymer composite roofing product mimics the look and feel of traditional natural slate, yet is lighter, more durable and costs a fraction of the price of slate. It comes in two blends: Colonial Gray, a luxurious mixture of subtle gray, and Capitol blend, a rich combination of gray, plum and green. It also features a UV fade-resistant surface technology for superior color stability. In addition, the shingles are shipped in pre-blended pallets, so contractors won’t have to spend time sorting colors at the jobsite and can begin installing the roof more quickly. It is backed by a 50-year limited, transferable warranty. Symphony is U.L. Class A fire resistant with an appropriate underlayment and U.L. 2218 Class 4 impact resistant.
