CHICAGO - Architects and contractors can now find new LEED, Submittal Builder and Limiting Heights tools at USG Design Studio, the single online resource that helps architects and contractors simplify the design, specification and submittal process. Since 2007, users have quickly and accurately designed, compared, changed, selected and specified interiors products and systems with USG Design Studio free of charge.
“USG Design Studio is the one-stop, web-based resource for architects and contractors design-build needs and is designed around how architects and contractors think and work,” said Robert Grupe, director of USG Architectural & Technical Solutions, “By offering a robust set of free interactive and educational tools for both architects and contractors, USG Design Studio bridges the gap between design and specification, and fosters greater collaboration between the design build team. The closer teams work together the better the opportunities for more productive building projects that ultimately satisfy clients needs.” USG Design Studio offers architects and contractors the most comprehensive design, specification and submittal tools available online today for use in either CAD or BIM software and users can compare products from other manufacturers.
With the new Understanding LEED page and LEED Report tool, users can find information about LEED, including how to earn credits and points with USG products, and then generate a custom Microsoft Word report for a specific project based on the USG products selected.
The new Submittal Builder tool allows users to quickly and easily find product information and Material Safety Data Sheets for USG products. Users can download each document or send an email containing the selected documents. Contractors will find this tool especially helpful in better understanding the products specified so they can more accurately prepare their project bids and increase their opportunity to secure building projects.
Finally, with the new Limiting Heights tool, users can find information for interior partitions based on the Steel Stud Manufacturer Association’s Interior Non-Structural Composite table, and also quickly identify stud size and maximum partition height.
