ASHVILLE, N.C. - The W. P. Hickman Company has responded to the growing popularity of vegetative roof systems by developing essential metal components engineered to help with drainage and the retention of soil and growth medium. The product line includes the EcoEdge Drain Box and EcoEdge Soil Guard.
The EcoEdge Drain Box is available in two standard sizes: 12-inch by12-inch by 4.5-inch or 12-inch by 12-inch by 8-inch to accommodate the drainage needs of the vegetative roof system. The top cover of the Drain Box is designed for easy removal and access to the drain. Pre-punched 3-inch by ¼-inch slots allow for maximum drainage. The standard Drain Box consists of a .080-inch mill finish aluminum base with a .063-inch mill finish aluminum cover. Custom sizes are also available, even in large dimensions for overflow. Additional metals and finish may be available upon request.
The EcoEdge Soil Guard provides a drain-through separator between different elements of a vegetative roof. Whether the roof system design includes ballast, pavers, tray systems, or soil and growth medium, EcoEdge Soil Guard is a strong divider between materials. The standard sizes include 4-inch by 3-inch or 8-inch by 6-inch angles in .063-, .080-, and .125-inch mill aluminum. EcoEdge Soil Guard can also be ordered in custom sizes, metals, colors, or finishes to meet the needs of the project. The Soil Guard is also available pre-punched or without slots depending on the design of the water flow or materials that it is separating. For more information, call 800-892-9173 or visitwww.wph.com.
