Long-lasting Aluminum Roofing Conserves Energy, Waste

Piqua, Ohio - Constructed of approximately 95 – 98 percent post-consumer recycled material, Classic Metal Roofing Systems’ line of aluminum roofing employs aluminum and color coatings that are highly reflective of the sun’s ultraviolet rays, which translates into savings on energy costs of as much as 20 percent or more. According to the company, aluminum provides a lightweight, weather-resistant alternative that protects against structural damage; offers fire protection; resists impact, cracking, staining and curling; and can often be installed over existing roofing, saving time and diverting waste. www.ClassicRoof.com.

Cool Roof Line Combines Energy Savings with Hurricane and Weather Protection

Ontario, CAN - Met-Tile, Inc. has become an ENERGY STAR partner for its metal tile panel roofing system, which consists of long-length steel panels that are applied vertically and tightly secured with screw fasteners that keep the roof in place, even under the heaviest wind and rain. According to the company, the "cool roof" Met-Tile line features a high-performance architectural coating system with solar reflectivity values that meet and in some cases exceed ENERGY STAR requirements, and because roof surfaces stay cooler, they should be less subject to chemical and atmospheric degradation, resulting in longer roof life. www.met-tile.com/coolroof.htm.
