CertainTeed, Valley Forge, Pa., introduces Landmark™ 40 IR. The company has taken its Landmark™ laminated shingles and made them compliant with UL 2218 - Impact Resistance of Prepared Roof Covering Materials. The new shingle is engineered with a fiberglass scrim on the back surface, which increases its durability against impact. Landmark 40 IR also features a wider 1 1/2-inch nailing area - the all-new WideTrack QB™ feature for greater installation accuracy. Landmark 40 IR features the look of hand-split wood shakes and displays a soft shadow line that offers a smooth, refined look. The shingles weigh 260 pounds per square, are algae-resistant and come with a 40-year limited transferable warranty, including five-year protection against winds up to 80 mph (upgradeable to 90 mph with six nails) and five-year SureStart™ coverage.
