The recent addition of a 20-foot press brake makes five total press brakes in operation at SAF Metal Fabrication, Villa Rica, Ga. Capacities for producing customer sheet metal fabrication orders now range from 12 to 20 feet and 110 to 175 tons. All SAF brake presses are equipped with computerized back-gauges to ensure production accuracy and consistency.

All SAF brake presses are equipped with computerized back-gauges to ensure production accuracy and consistency.
In addition to the increased equipment inventory at the 78,000-square-foot SAF fabrication facility, the company has invested in additional dies and new die shapes to keep all presses operating efficiently during peak demand periods. Special forming requirements are handled by SAF's 10-foot, 6-inch CNC folding machine, which features quick die changeover to maximize productivity. This forming method also minimizes die marks in the folded metal surface as the sheet is wrapped around the die, which is locked in place on the metal's surface.
