Portals Plus Inc., Bensenville, Ill., introduces a bearing pan manufactured to allow roof drain installation from the deck surface, and to recess the roof drain flange so it is flush with the surrounding deck surface. This hardware eliminates the need to install any underdeck assemblies. Roof drains mounted on top of the roof deck invariably create a “dam” at the drain flange. This prevents the smooth flow of water to the drain and creates ponding water that deteriorates the roofing membrane. The bearing pan accepts all Portals Plus roof drains, including cast aluminum, cast iron, PVC and ABS.
