Congressional Record Recognizes National Roofing Week

Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi recognized National Roofing Week in the Congressional Record, highlighting the roofing industry's economic impact, public service and workforce contributions

U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.) has sponsored congressional recognition of National Roofing Week, June 7-13, in the Congressional Record, highlighting the roofing industry's contributions to communities nationwide.

In remarks submitted to the Congressional Record on May 12, Krishnamoorthi recognized the National Roofing Contractors Association, headquartered in Itasca, Ill., for its efforts to designate the week as National Roofing Week and emphasized the importance of roofs as a home or business's first line of defense against weather and other natural elements.

Krishnamoorthi noted National Roofing Week honors the thousands of roofing-related businesses and workers across the country, as well as the industry's commitment to public service.

"National Roofing Week is a valuable reminder of the significance quality roofing has on every home and business in the U.S.," Krishnamoorthi wrote in the Congressional Record.

The congressman described NRCA as one of the nation's oldest trade associations and said its nearly 4,000 member companies represent the entire roofing supply chain. He also noted most NRCA members are small, privately held businesses that provide family-sustaining jobs in communities across the country.

According to the Congressional Record, NRCA members will mark National Roofing Week through charitable projects, employee training programs and other activities nationwide. Krishnamoorthi commended the organization and its members for the vital role they play in every community and called on his colleagues to acknowledge their contributions during National Roofing Week.
