March 4, 2026

McElroy Metal announced a series of leadership transitions reflecting the company’s commitment to continuity, growth, and long-term operational excellence.

After years of dedicated service, Carl Riggins, vice president of operations, has announced his retirement. Riggins joined McElroy Metal in 2015 and played a pivotal role in strengthening operations, developing leaders across multiple facilities, and supporting the company’s long-term succession strategy. His steady leadership and focus on team development have left a lasting impact on the organization.

As part of this planned transition, McElroy Metal has promoted Jeff Hoopes to vice president of operations and Marc Scammerhorn to vice president of manufacturing.

Hoopes joined McElroy Metal in 2014 and brings more than two decades of experience in the metal building components industry. He has served in progressive leadership roles, most recently as regional operations manager, where he supported multiple facilities and advanced continuous improvement initiatives. In his new role, Hoopes will oversee operational performance with a focus on collaboration, efficiency, and people-centered leadership.

Scammerhorn joined McElroy Metal in 2013 and has supported manufacturing operations across the organization through equipment strategy, maintenance programs, and manufacturing consistency. With extensive experience in manufacturing leadership and equipment management, he will continue to strengthen McElroy Metal’s manufacturing as vice president of manufacturing.

In addition, McElroy Metal announced the promotion of Joe Corban to vice president of customer solutions. Corban joined the company in 2003 and has held a variety of leadership roles across customer service, technical services, and continuous improvement. In his new role, he will lead efforts to enhance the customer experience, strengthen service and technical support teams, and align processes to support the company’s continued growth.

“These leadership transitions reflect the depth of talent within McElroy Metal and our commitment to developing leaders from within,” said Ian McElroy, president of McElroy Metal. “We are grateful for Carl’s contributions and confident in the leadership of Jeff, Marc, and Joe as we move forward.”

McElroy Metal thanks Carl Riggins for his years of service and leadership and congratulates Jeff Hoopes, Marc Scammerhorn, and Joe Corban on their well-deserved promotions.
