Carlisle Debuts ThermaThin 7 High-Performance Insulation
New R-7-per-inch insulation debuts at IRE, offering contractors material, labor and logistics savings without sacrificing thermal performance.

Carlisle SynTec Systems has introduced ThermaThin 7, a next-generation polyisocyanurate insulation designed to deliver higher thermal performance in a thinner profile, marking the company’s latest customer-driven innovation for commercial roofing systems.
ThermaThin 7 delivers an R-value of 7 per inch, compared with R-5.7 per inch for standard polyiso insulation. By achieving higher R-values with less material thickness, the product helps reduce overall roof height while maintaining code-compliant assemblies. According to Carlisle, the thinner profile can cut roof system thickness by approximately 17%, minimizing the need to raise curbs or parapets and simplifying flashing and transition details.
The higher R-value also translates into logistical and labor efficiencies. Carlisle estimates ThermaThin 7 can reduce truckloads by at least 20%, lowering freight costs, easing jobsite congestion and streamlining material handling and staging. These benefits are especially valuable on large-scale projects and high R-value applications such as cold storage facilities.
“Our job is to create high-performance roofing systems that save applicators time and deliver consistent, reliable results,” said Jason Taylor, president of Carlisle Construction Materials. “ThermaThin 7 provides meaningful project savings by reducing trucks on-site, simplifying unloading and staging, and accelerating installation while meeting today’s energy efficiency demands.”
Carlisle will offer an exclusive first look at ThermaThin 7 during the International Roofing Expo, Jan. 20–22 in Las Vegas, at booth #2501. The product is expected to be available in summer 2026.
