EnergyShield XR is now approved for even more NFPA 285 assemblies and additional cladding options to support safe, more versatile building designs.

Originally developed to offer an option to XPS while meeting the flexibility of both residential and commercial, above- and below-grade needs, the latest fire performance test results mean that EnergyShield XR can now be used within millions more NFPA 285 assemblies. According to DrJ TER 1306-03 (now live at DrJ Engineering), among the new options are exterior claddings, like metal panels and fiber cement; additional WRB and sheathing options; and more.

Expanded NFPA 285-approved assemblies offer engineers and architects greater design versatility and flexibility for substitution requests that add value to projects.

EnergyShield XR continues to build upon a portfolio of assemblies and uses unreachable by XPS. EnergyShield XR, perfect for residential or commercial applications, is available nationwide from eight North American manufacturing facilities; more information may be found here.
