Leading Through Change: SOPREMA’s Perspective on Roofing in 2026
Challenges abound for the roofing industry, but there is hope for change and growth

The roofing industry is heading into 2026 with a sense of cautious optimism. Many contractors are expecting moderate growth, especially in commercial work, and that’s encouraging.
But in the current economic climate, we all know it’s not without its challenges. At SOPREMA, we’ve spent the past year listening closely to our customers, watching the market, and making strategic moves to stay ahead.
One of the biggest shifts we made in 2025 was bringing our brands even closer together under the SOPREMA name. It wasn’t just a branding exercise, though; it was about making it easier for contractors to do business with us. The branding integration has helped us streamline our product line and deepen brand recognition across the board.
Whether they’re looking for roofing membranes, waterproofing, coatings, sealants and adhesives, insulation, or more, they know they’re getting high quality and consistency. Moreover, they know that there is an unbeatable team of individuals at SOPREMA that is dedicated to supporting them.
Looking at the trends in this year’s Roofing Contractor Commercial Roofing Trends report, it’s clear that synthetic membranes and coatings continue to rise. We’re also seeing increased interest in advanced multi-ply membrane solutions in resilient and mission-critical construction areas where SOPREMA continues to invest heavily. Contractors are also expanding their offerings to meet changing demands, and we’re supporting that shift with ongoing product innovation and enhanced hands-on training to ensure crews feel confident and prepared on the jobsite.
Labor and material costs continue to be a concern. Inflation, supply chain pressures, and workforce shortages aren’t going away overnight. But we’ve learned a lot since the pandemic and supply-chain disruptions. We’ve built more flexibility and convenience into our logistics, and we’re working closely with our customers to anticipate needs and avoid surprises. It’s not perfect, but excellence remains the ultimate goal.
Technology is another area where we’re seeing real momentum. Like the rest of the professional world, contractors use estimating software, cloud platforms, and AI tools. At SOPREMA, we’re exploring how digital solutions can support better planning, installation, and long-term performance. It’s about empowering people with the tools and training required to attain the excellence that is required by our contractor customers, and then allowing those customers to be the judge of our success.
We’re also keeping a close eye on industry consolidation. Mergers and acquisitions are reshaping the contracting landscape, and while that brings new opportunities, it also raises new questions and challenges. SOPREMA remains privately held, and that independence allows us to make decisions with our customers’ best interests in mind, not just short-term returns.
What keeps me up at night? First and foremost, knowing that all SOPREMA employees are safe and sound, and after that, it’s making sure we’re not just reacting to change, but leading it. What makes me proud? Seeing our people rise to the occasion, time and time again.
2026 is going to be another year of change and growth, and SOPREMA is ready.
