Johns Manville Launches QuickFoam Adhesive for Single-Ply
Two-part, low-rise PU foam adhesive speeds fleece-backed membrane and insulation attachment, using retraction technology to reduce telegraphing and minimize ballasting.

Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company and leading building products manufacturer, introduced JM QuickFoam Adhesive, a two-part, low-rise polyurethane foam adhesive for attaching fleece-backed single-ply membranes to insulation boards, attaching insulation boards to each other, or attaching directly to the deck. This new adhesive helps contractors work faster while delivering enhanced performance and strength.
JM QuickFoam retracts as it cures, eliminating post-rise and reducing telegraphing through the membrane, ensuring a smooth, clean appearance.
“Retraction technology allows contractors to install membrane, insulation and cover boards with minimal ballasting required,” said Polyiso Product Manager Jeff Job. “Once applied, they can walk-in the board or membrane, roll it with a 150 lb. roller and let the bond do the rest. Plus, it’s compatible with all major spray rigs, so it’s easy for contractors to make the switch."
Moreover, JM QuickFoam remains flexible once cured, providing effective impact absorption. Soon, look for JM to offer enhanced hail protection capabilities with roof systems utilizing JM QuickFoam. This includes Very Severe Hail (VSH) rated systems, which are already available through FM.
JM QuickFoam is compatible with several applications, making it a versatile solution for fleece-backed membrane, insulation and cover board securement. It can be used with the following insulations, cover boards and substrates: polyisocyanurate; HD wood fiber; perlite; HD Polyiso; gypsum; concrete; treated plywood; cementitious wood fiber plank; base sheets; gypsum; and some existing smooth-surfaced asphalt (per inspection).
The product is currently available in three formats: cartridges, 15- and 50-gallon drums. Five-gallon bag-n-box and canisters will be available soon.
