Georgia-Pacific Building Products has introduced the DensDeck ProFast Prime Roof Board, a 3/8-inch gypsum-based cover board designed to transform mechanically fastened roofing installations. This cutting-edge solution addresses the industry's pressing needs for enhanced efficiency, reduced costs, and improved ease of use while maintaining uncompromised durability standards.

The product's standout feature lies in its exceptional fastener reduction capability, with testing demonstrating a remarkable 25-75% decrease in required fasteners for single-ply (hybrid) assemblies. This significant reduction translates directly into material cost savings and improved project profit margins for contractors. Beyond cost benefits, the board delivers substantial logistical advantages through its lightweight design, weighing approximately 20% less than the DensDeck Prime Roof Board, which facilitates easier handling and installation on job sites.

Transportation and supply chain efficiency receive a notable boost from the board's optimized dimensions, allowing approximately 25% more units per truck load. This improvement helps reduce transportation costs and streamlines project logistics. The product represents a comprehensive solution that meets the evolving demands of roofing contractors, architects, and roofing consultants who prioritize streamlined labor processes without compromising on performance or durability.

According to Hamed Kayello, DensDeck Roof Board product manager, the product has completed all necessary testing phases and is now commercially available nationwide. The DensDeck ProFast Prime Roof Board exemplifies Georgia-Pacific's commitment to innovation in building products, offering the construction industry a solution that balances efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability in modern roofing applications.
