A new company called SkyClean NYC is taking to the air so New Yorkers can enjoy a clean roof without the hassles associated with navigating the congested urban jungle.
In a recent news release, SkyClean NYC said the company officially launched its drone-powered roof cleaning service as an “innovative, non-invasive alternative to traditional pressure washing.”
SkyClean claims its service is faster, safer and designed to protect even the most delicate roof materials from damage. Maintaining clean rooftops has always been challenging, whether in a brownstone in Brooklyn or a high-rise in Midtown.
Traditional methods often require scaffolding, ladders and aggressive pressure washers, leading to cracked tiles, water damage or costly repairs. SkyClean NYC says its approach eliminates those risks.
The company’s managing director said the firm has performed exterior cleaning for years and drone technology is the breakthrough they’ve been waiting for.
SkyClean NYC said it is one of the first companies in the region to fully integrate this level of drone tech into roof maintenance.
The company's drones use targeted cleaning systems, only spraying where needed. This, it says, means no wasted water, no oversaturation or runoff issues, and zero risk of broken tiles or structural damage.
As part of the rollout, SkyClean NYC is launching an educational campaign with demo videos, before-and-after galleries, and online scheduling to help customers see the value firsthand.
Built for Performance and Safety
SkyClean says its New York technical team worked closely with drone engineers to develop custom UAVs specifically for rooftop maintenance. Each unit is equipped with:
- GPS-stabilized flight systems
- High-resolution cameras
- Adjustable spray nozzles
- Smart flow control that adapts to roof type and dirt level
One of the company's engineers said the drones are built for precision. The drones clean thoroughly without ever touching the roof surface. SkyClean says it monitors wind speed, drone temperature and battery health in real time to ensure every flight is safe, smooth and effective.
