Is Roofing Ownership Sometimes Lonely?

Entrepreneurship can sometimes come with an emptiness that not everyone understands. SCORE can help.

If you are a small business owner, you’ve likely experienced that emptiness that often comes with being an entrepreneur. There are some things your family wouldn’t understand, too confidential to discuss with employees and the contractors you know are competitors! You know even world class athletes like Tiger Woods have a coach and mentor to talk through natural anxieties, bumps in the road, obstacles and identifying areas for improvement and action plans. The problem is that most small business owners can’t afford a high-quality coach!

I was talking with a good friend of Roofing Contractor, Dave Harrison. You may remember Dave who served as senior vice president of marketing at GAF. He led efforts that propelled GAF from #5 to #1 in the industry with breakthrough initiatives including Wealth Builder®, Master Elite®, Golden Pledge® and capability development through CARE®. He even helped Roofing Contractor start Best of Success.

Not long ago, I asked Dave what he’s been up to. Dave has been busy! He consults for many companies, is a professor, is on the Board of National Roofing Partners and on top of that, is very active in SCORE.

I didn’t know about SCORE and I’m guessing most of you haven’t either. However, SCORE might be able to provide the high quality and impactful coaching and mentoring you desire, at an investment you can afford: FREE!

What’s SCORE? It is not for profit affiliated with the Small Business Association (SBA) and includes 11,000 former senior executives who volunteer their time and capabilities to mentor and coach entrepreneurs and small business owners. Simply, their time coaching is their philanthropy! With a SCORE mentor, you won’t feel so alone. They’ll help you prevent pitfalls and help you succeed.

A SCORE mentor can also help you plug into extensive resources to help you with the challenges of growing pains. You’ll have access to a robust collection of past educational events and will be invited to live online events that occur almost every day! If you have a need – they will likely have an educational video to help! Did I mention, it is all free?
