On Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, Polyglass U.S.A., Inc., partnered for the seventh year in a row with the Dolphin’s Challenge Cancer annual cycling and 5K run/walk event at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. The DCC is the largest fundraising event in the NFL and represents the most significant known philanthropic pledge in all professional sports.
As a “Fighter Partner” sponsor, Polyglass U.S.A. Inc. contributed over $66,000 for cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. A total of 103 Polyglass employees and their families and friends walked, ran, or biked as part of the charitable event.
“I am so very proud to be part of a company where giving back is simply a part of our DNA,” said Scott Lelling, Polyglass marketing director. “In our seventh year partnering with the DCC, our entire Polyglass community has walked, run, and biked hundreds of miles and raised many thousands of dollars for a cause that is very dear to all of our hearts.”
Among the Polyglass Team of 17 cyclists, one of them, Bernard Pierre, Polyglass AP analyst, completed the 100-mile ride.
“Doing a century ride is a battle. It is tough, and it takes a lot," he said. "The only reason I was able to complete the ride was because of the support around me that pushed me and sometimes even pulled me to the finish line. Yes, the century ride was a battle, and those dealing with cancer are battling consistently daily. I hope that the little I could do was to support and push them to the goal of beating cancer."
The DCC is dedicated to improving lives by financially supporting cancer research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. With the $10 million and counting raised at DCC XIII, the Dolphins have now raised more than $63 million of the $75 million commitment.
Polyglass is committed to giving back to the community and is proud to partner with and support local organizations. For more information on the DCC, visit dolphinscancerchallenge.com.
