National Women in Roofing is going international with a one-day conference in Canada to help empower women professionals in the roofing industry.

The first annual NWiR Day in Canada will be held April 4 at the International Center in Mississauga, Ontario, adjacent to ROOFTech. Much like the annual event NWiR hosts prior to the International Roofing Expo, NWiR Day Canada gives women professionals the chance to gather, network, and learn about the latest business strategies and tactics to enhance their businesses.

According to the agenda, attendees will have the chance to visit the ROOFTech Expo in the morning to spend some time at the trade show. Following a light lunch, the one-day conference officially kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with opening remarks, followed by workshops about traveling safely, mental health, and mentorship. The event wraps up with a reception at 4:30 p.m.

The event also highlights the NWiR’s official Canada Council, which provides all of the same resources and mentorship opportunities as its stateside counterparts.

“We’ve always had Canadian members but are so happy to welcome our roofing sisters from Canada as an official new NWiR Council,” the group’s website states.
