Legal issues in roofing are always important to understand, which is why the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is bringing the best and brightest experts to you through LEGALcon 2022.

The virtual conference will be held March 10. Coordinated by the NRCA’s Legal Resource Center, the one-day event invites roofing professionals to learn the latest legal developments in the roofing industry. Among those presenting is Trent Cotney, CEO of Cotney Attorneys & Consultants and NRCA general counsel.

In this Legal Insights video, Cotney gives a sneak peek of his presentations discussing the latest OSHA updates and material volatility.

“We found that what [a virtual webinar] does is it gives people the opportunity that maybe can’t travel or maybe they want more than just one person in the room, like their crew or other people that might be interested in the topics, to listen to it,” said Cotney.

In addition to dealing with OHSA enforcement and material price increases, contractors are faced with supply shortages in part from a lack of truck drivers. Protests in Canada and the U.S. led by truckers mainly due to COVID-19 requirements are highlighting the conditions truckers are dealing with, but as Cotney points out, their actions may lead to further supply chain issues.
