Vote counting is still underway in multiple states and a winner in the presidential race may not be known for a few weeks due to pending legal challenges, said Trent Cotney, CEO of Cotney Construction Law, in his latest RC Legal Insights update. Cotney explained that the longer the delay, the bigger the potential business implications for roofing contractors in just about any market.

Outside of the presidential race, there were a lot of official results from Election Night 2020 to unpack, including drug decriminalization in Oregon and potential shifts in congressional leadership on Capitol Hill, Cotney said.

He also talked about how contractors need to ready themselves and crews for additional challenges due to COVID-19 spikes as winter approaches.
