WAYNE, N.J. — GAF announced plans to open its next new manufacturing facility for polyisocyanurate (ISO), an insulation material used in commercial roofing systems. The facility will be located in Gainesville, Texas and follows GAF’s first ISO manufacturing facility in Statesboro, Ga. which began shipping material in August of this year.

This state-of-the art ISO facility will be integrated with the company’s existing thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) manufacturing facilities and will enable GAF to efficiently service its customers throughout the central region of the U.S. The plant will also produce residential sheathing. Construction of the new 200,000 square foot facility is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2012, and the facility will begin operating in the third quarter of 2013. The facility is expected to employ approximately 20 people in addition to the 35 people already employed at GAF’s Gainesville manufacturing site.

“The opening of our second ISO facility demonstrates GAF’s unwavering commitment to create efficient and cost-effective solutions for our customers,” stated Bob Tafaro, president and chief executive officer of GAF. “The products manufactured at this facility will support property owners’ efforts to reduce energy costs through thermal efficiency.”

GAF’s presence in Texas includes three manufacturing facilities (in Dallas, Ennis and Gainesville), a research and development center in Ennis, and a corporate office in Dallas, collectively employing over 500 people.

Tommy James, chairman of the Gainesville Economic Development Corporation commented, "The City of Gainesville welcomes GAF's continued investment in the local community and its citizens, and looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship." Jim Goldworthy, Mayor of Gainesville said, "GAF's addition of new, skilled manufacturing jobs will continue to strengthen the local economy. We are very pleased that GAF decided on Gainesville for this expansion project and wish them many years of continued success."

GAF will be announcing further investments in manufacturing capacity in its commercial roofing business and continues to investigate locations for planned new facilities.
