SOPRASOLAR now has the distinction of being the first FM approved BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) Roof System on the worldwide construction market.
FM Approvals certifies products and services with a unique focus on:
• Objectively testing property loss prevention products and services and certifying those that meet rigorous loss prevention standards.
• Encouraging the development and use of FM Approved products and services that improve and advance property loss prevention practices.
FM Approval of the first BIVP roof system is the result of the development of FM Global Standard 4476, published in early 2011 after review by various industry stakeholders including SOPREMA North America’s corporate technical department. It demonstrates once again SOPREMA’S commitment to innovation and product development, along with its leadership in energy efficient building envelope solutions.
