Sen. Robert Casey Jr. visited ATAS International Inc. on Oct. 27. Casey was given a tour of the ATAS facility by ATAS President Dick Bus and ATAS Vice President Jim Bus. Casey then met with employees to talk about their concerns, particularly economic issues.
Casey noted on his website blog: “One (employee) shared my concerns about companies that receive tax breaks to move manufacturing jobs overseas. I pledged to continue fighting to level the playing field for American manufacturers. Taxpayer money should not be used to subsidize outsourcing of American jobs.”
Dick Bus and Casey also discussed the history of ATAS and significant ATAS projects around Pennsylvania, as well as the Home Star Act of 2010, which is a pending two-year federal program that would provide direct consumer incentives for residential efficiency retrofits.
“We appreciate Senator Casey’s interest in ATAS products and projects, as well as the information he shared with ATAS employees,” Dick Bus said. “He had the opportunity to sit down with three generations of Bus family members, and we were happy to share a successful family-business story with him.”
