JACKSON, Miss. - IPS and MBCI, two NCI Group companies, held a Grand Opening ceremony to celebrate the new insulated metal panel manufacturing line that went into an expanded NCI facility. The event included a program, lunch and tour of the plant. More than 140 people were in attendance for the occasion.

The program opened with recognition of state, county and city officials in attendance. Wayne Dickinson, President and CEO of NCI Components, was awarded with a plaque from Hinds County in appreciation of IPS and MBCI for their investment in the Hinds County business community. He was then presented with an award of recognition from the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership. Mississippi State Treasurer Tate Reeves spoke briefly of his gratitude toward both companies for choosing Mississippi as the location to open the plant, offering new job opportunities and economic growth for the state.

NCI opened the plant in April 1994. Because of the extent of the new line, the facility required additional square footage. The plant upgrade started in January 2009. MBCI and IPS added 12,000 square feet to the manufacturing part of the facility and 6,681 square feet were added for offices, bringing the total square footage of the plant to 129,150 feet.

The new plant allows IPS and MBCI to manufacture high-quality insulated metal panels (IMPs) for both roof and wall applications. The line is computer automated and provides an increase in production at four times the speed of the old line.
