DaVinci Roofscapes Re-enlists with Homes for Our Troops

As a returning corporate sponsor for 2010, DaVinci will supply synthetic slate and shake roofing tiles for a variety of project homes for severely injured service people returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – DaVinci Roofscapes, the leader in synthetic roofing tile production, has renewed its commitment to support the non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops. As a returning corporate sponsor for 2010, DaVinci will supply synthetic slate and shake roofing tiles for a variety of project homes for severely injured service people returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
To start the year, 610 bundles of patented DaVinci Bellaforté Villa roofing tiles in shades of gray are being donated to a home under construction for Cpl. Joshua Lindsay. While on a patrol for his Army battalion in Iraq in 2005, Lindsay was shot and then hit by two 81mm mortars. As a result of the attack, Lindsay is a paraplegic. Homes for Our Troops is currently constructing his specially adapted home in Cumming, Ga. so that he can be close to the Shepard Center in Atlanta.
Homes for Our Troops has constructed or remodeled more than 45 homes nationwide since the non-profit organization began in 2004. Each home is built at no cost to the injured serviceperson and is constructed with donated products, land manpower. It has been recognized by the American Institute of Philanthropy for their excellence as one of only five “Top-Rated Veterans and Military Charities” in the organization’s listings.
