OMG Fasteners meet FM and Miami Dade approvals.

For more information, call 800-633-3800 or visit www.olyfast.com.

Expansion of Fastener Offerings

Simpson Strong-Tie has strengthened its fastener product offering with a new and extensive line of premium stainless-steel fasteners. Designed for outdoor applications, the new stainless-steel fastener line includes nails and screws for decking, siding, roofing, framing and finish work. The company has been able to deepen its fastener offering since acquiring Swan Secure Fasteners in 2007. The new line of stainless-steel fasteners provides superior corrosion resistance, strength and durability, and is now fully integrated under the Simpson Strong-Tie brand. Customers can expect to see newly packaged stainless-steel hand-drive nails and screws, stainless-steel staples, brads and collated nails, and other corrosion-resistant fasteners. The company is also well known for its innovations in structural fasteners, including a few most recent additions, the Strong-Drive SD structural-connector screw, SDW screw for multi-ply trusses and SDS screw in stainless steel.

Rust Protection Screws

Raytec Manufacturing has been serving the building industry since 1956. Specializing in fasteners for seamless gutter applications, Raytec utilizes an in house salt spray testing lab to test screws in accordance with ASTM –B117 specifications. Screws include the 200-hour Gold Color Zinc (photo) designed for outdoor use. They provide up to 10 times the red rust protection versus the common silver zinc screws intended for indoor use. The product was tested in an environmentally controlled salt spray chamber using ASAT B117 standards. Rezist Extended Life ceramic coated screws feature three layers of ceramic baked on at high temperatures. This product has very good corrosion resistance in most weather conditions. The 410 Stainless Steel provides the best resistance to corrosion in a variety of weather conditions. It contains just enough carbon alloys to maintain sharp threads, points and add strength and be magnetic. All screws are magnetic 1/4 hex head with washers, and come in all popular colors and sizes.

For more information, call 877-800-2500.

Roofing Coil Nailer

Paslode’s Roofer’s Choice Roofing Coil Nailer, Model R175-C, has the power to consistently drive nails flush through layers of roofing shingles. Its unique bumper geometry means consistent low-pressure return during rapid fire (8 fasteners per second) without waiting for the pressure to build back up. A new upper piston valve design virtually eliminates valve seizure. Its carbide tip nose, hardened driver and wear guards mean less maintenance.

For more information, call 800-222-6990 or visit www.paslode.com.

Earth-Friendly Eco-Roofing Nails

Maze STORMGUARD Double Hot-Dipped Galvanized Ring Shank Coil Roofing Nails are the only made in the U.S.A. galvanized coil roofing nails. Available in both coil and hand drive, they meet the “domestic made” requirement for the Buy American Act. In addition, SCS Scientific Certification Systems, a top-rated third party evaluation and certification company in Emeryville, Calif., has independently certified that Maze Eco-Nails have achieved certification for recycled steel and zinc content. Maze Nails are an “environmentally preferred product” as defined by the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) and Maze fully endorses the LEED Green Building Rating System. Maze ring shank roofing nails are also “Miami-Dade County Product Control Approved.” A thick coating of zinc provides maximum corrosion-resistance and the ring shanks provide ultimate holding power.

For more information, call 800-435-5949 or visit www.mazenails.com.

UltraPly TPO InvisiWeld System

The Firestone UltraPly TPO InvisiWeld System is a high performance, non-penetrating TPO membrane fastening system. The mechanically attached system features a special TPO-coated plate that bonds to the TPO membrane using a heat induction welding tool. The VOC-free system typically requires 25 to 50 percent fewer fasteners compared to conventional mechanically fastened TPO systems, simplifying installation and reducing labor and material costs.

For more information, call 800-428-4442 or visit www.firestonebpco.com.

Flex RhinoBond System

The Flex RhinoBond System for thermoplastic single ply roofing membranes helps reduce labor while increasing the uplift resistance strength of single ply membranes. The system works by inducing a weld-temperature current from above the membrane through a special tool, which welds the membrane to the deck insulation fasteners below. The result is an extremely strong bond, achieved with minimum labor.
