BREA, Calif. - ArmorLite™ Roofing Technology unveiled its new roofing product during a two-day installation and demonstration at a home in Brea, Calif. The live event, held on Aug. 8-9, drew an audience of roofing contractors and general contractors, and brought to the forefront the tribulations the roofing industry faces involving weight and environmental issues. According to ArmorLite, the company has created the “lightest, toughest, safest, most durable and environmentally friendly product” in the industry.

With the help from General Electric, ArmorLite developed the product using advanced engineered polymers. The top surface of ArmorLite’s product is made from a highly weatherable material (GE Geloy). This type of material has been used for more than 40 years for outdoor weatherable applications, but not for roofing technology.

“ArmorLite has ushered in a new era for this industry with the greenest and safest product ever conceived,” said ArmorLite President Frank Lane, noting ArmorLite weighs eight times less than other products. “It’s all in the name - as strong as armor yet light weight.” For more information, visitwww.armorliteroofing.com.
