JGA Corp., Atlanta, announces its 25th anniversary as a wholesale supplier of roofing and building products. JGA Corp. was founded by John G. (Jimmy) Alston. The firm began with the acquisition of John McDaniel Wholesale Supply Co., a 30-year-old, full-service hardware wholesaler turned roofing material supplier.

Within its first five years, JGA Corp. had acquired several other wholesale supply companies, expanded its sales territory into South and North Carolina, and opened a branch location in Savannah, Ga. Over the course of the next five years, JGA began operating branch locations in South Carolina and Florida, and built the corporate headquarters facility it occupies today.

In 1995, JGA Corp. began operating its roofing-contractor supply business under the trade name of Southern Roof Center. Southern Roof Center covers Georgia, the Low Country of South Carolina, and North Florida. Southern Roof Center has earned a reputation as a service-oriented supplier to the roofing trade, and as a supplier of a broad range of specialty roofing material such as natural slate, clay and concrete tile, metal roofing, cedar and pine shakes, and synthetic slate roofing. Jim Owen is president of Southern Roof Center.

JGA Corp. also services a broad territory from Arkansas to Florida specializing in exterior building products, including roofing, siding, windows, doors and specialty millwork through its Dealers Choice division.

Today Alston is chairman of JGA Corp., and John T. Blackburn is president and CEO. The firm continues to grow and prosper thanks to its many outstanding customers, vendors, and a dedicated and experienced staff.
