TAMKO Building Products has introduced HailGuard shingles, an asphalt roofing system designed to improve protection against hail damage. The product is positioned as the first asphalt shingle system offered with a hail warranty through the HailGuard Extended Limited System Warranty.

HailGuard shingles incorporate the company’s new ImpactCore technology, which combines polymer-modified asphalt with engineered fiberglass mat construction. The materials are designed to distribute and absorb impact stress, helping reduce damage from hail and severe weather.

The shingles carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating and are designed to perform beyond standard Class 4 testing benchmarks through additional internal testing protocols. When installed as part of the TAMKO Complete roofing system, the product can also qualify for a 160-mph WindGuard extended wind warranty.

Additional features include installation capability in temperatures as low as 25°F and a range of architectural color blends intended to match different home styles.

HailGuard shingles are currently available in select regions and are designed for homeowners in areas with frequent hail and severe storms. TAMKO says the system-based design aims to help contractors deliver more durable roof assemblies while providing homeowners with additional warranty coverage related to hail events.
