R3NG’s Lauren Morley on Improving Roofing Operations
Industry veteran Lauren Morley, president of R3NG, shares some of the lessons and advice she’s learned over the years that roofing contractors can implement to improve their operations.
With more than a decade in the roofing industry and a mind sharpened by earning a degree in psychology, Lauren Morley knows what it takes to keep a company thriving.
Having grown up around construction thanks to her father being a general contractor, Morley has been with R3NG for 10 years and purchased it five years ago. She became the majority owner about two years ago.
All of this lends extra weight when she spoke with RC about her commercial company during the 2025 Western Roofing Expo. She encourages contractors to invest in aspects of their business, like maintenance and technology.
For those looking to bolster maintenance divisions, she said look to other roofing companies with established divisions, including connecting through peer-to-peer groups.
“I have the ability now where something happens and we don’t hit a large job for a whole year, my maintenance division can get us through full overhead for a while,” she said.
Building lasting partnerships with suppliers and distributors is crucial to success as well. Morley said she takes the approach of strengthening relationships instead of simply shopping around for the best deals.
“I found that finding the people I trust the most, and allowing them to support me as much as I support them has been really important to us,” she said. “For the most part, if I have a job, I know who I’m using and who I’m getting it through.”
