Roofing contractors and roofing industry professionals from around the country again pitched in with some much-needed repairs and safety improvements to the homes of some well deserving New Orleans residents as part of the 9th Annual Community Service Day at IRE 2018 Monday.

More than 60 volunteers with expertise in different roofing-related fields put their building skills to the test, completing a wide range of projects for local seniors and military veterans.

“We began this tradition at the 2010 International Roofing Expo to make a positive difference in the lives of those still suffering the effects of Hurricane Katrina,” said event organizer Brandi McElhaney. “Nine years later, we are still going strong and helping families in multiple cities.”

Sika Sarnafil was again the main event sponsor.
