DoubleBond™ Tape

MFM Building Products

Manufactured by MFM Building Products, DoubleBond is a non-reinforced, 35-mil double-sided tape designed for sealing applications requiring an adhesive surface on both sides. It can be used as a self-sealing gasket to replace messy caulks and is ideal for use around solar panels, skylights, windows, and vents. Use DoubleBond to protect the membrane from exposure to sunlight and other UV sources. The membrane is available in a 4-inch or 6-inch x 50-foot roll size, has a five-year warranty, and is manufactured in the USA. For more information, visit mfmbp.com or call 800-882-7663.

 The S-5! PVKIT HUR

PVKIT HUR

S-5!

The S-5! PVKIT HUR is the newest version of the PVKIT rail-less, direct-attach solar mounting solution for metal roofs, providing a straightforward method to install solar modules with tested, engineered, cost-saving, secure attachment. Specifically designed to withstand extremely high wind uplift forces such as hurricane-force winds, it is the first metal roof PV mounting system certified to FM4478, FM Approval’s toughest PV Standard. It was tested and certified along with Butler’s MR24 standing seam roof and JA Solar’s module up to 105 pounds per square foot uplift forces and has passed many other stringent tests required for FM4478. Visit s-5.com for more information.

Panasonic Corporation of North America revealed two new lines of compact EVERVOLT solar modules

EVERVOLT

Panasonic

Panasonic Corporation of North America revealed two new lines of compact EVERVOLT solar modules developed with performance, durability, flexibility and pleasing design aesthetics in mind. The 430HK2/420HK2 Black Series modules, made with half-cut cells and heterojunction technology with gapless connections, are the most powerful modules offered by Panasonic. Another addition to the company's suite of solar solutions, the 405PK2/400PK2 Black Series modules, are made with Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) technology and half-cut cells to maximize conversion efficiency and provide higher power output. The 430HK2 and 420HK2 Black Series modules have efficiency ratings of 22.2% and 21.7%, respectively, while the 405PK2 and 400PK2 Black Series modules boast efficiencies of 20.8% and 20.5%, respectively. GreenRoof Vento

GreenRoof Vento

K2

K2’s new mounting structure, GreenRoof Vento, helps installers mount solar on green rooftops. It allows for portrait and landscape module elevations at 10 degrees and 15 degrees, with maximum module sizes of 94 inches by 53 inches. The system may also be applied to existing rooftops. The feet provide a firm hold but are designed small enough so that moss and succulents continue to receive light and water. The mounting system manufacturer plans to integrate the new solution in its PV project planning tool, K2 Base, by the end of the third quarter of 2023. For more information, visit k2-systems.com/en-us.

 Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions

Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions announced the launch of two all-new Unified Steel Stone Coated Roofing colors rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. The new colors, Harborwood and Stirling Gray, are offered in PINE-CREST Shake and PACIFIC tile profiles. The new Unified Steel CRRC-rated colors are stone-coated steel roofing options that provide high solar reflectivity and thermal emittance when solar energy hits the roof surface. Thus, they detract sunlight and radiate heat off the roof surface. With a high Solar Reflective Index, they effectively reduce the heat absorbed by the roof and transfer it into the structure below. For more information, visit westlakeroyalroofing.com/unified-steel.

Titanium FR

Titanium FR

Owens Corning

Titanium FR Premium Self-Adhered Underlayment is designed to meet wildland-urban Class A fire codes as a critical roof assembly component. Its proprietary technology mitigates fire spread to the roof deck under solar panels and under metal, asphalt, or tile. Plus, it offers industry-leading benefits on the job site. A specially engineered self-adhesive layer allows for easier repositioning, and exclusive Sure-Foot technology provides superior walkability, wet or dry. For more information, visit owenscorning.com.

ClearMatt

ClearMatt

Lorin Industries

Lorin Industries, Inc. highlights the high solar reflectance index value of its ClearMatt Architectural Class II and exterior finish anodized aluminum. High solar reflectance provides a range of benefits to a building’s surrounding environment, making ClearMatt a sustainable environmental alternative to white paints and a solution that achieves a beautiful aesthetic appeal that lasts. ClearMatt anodized aluminum has a higher Solar Reflective Index for “cool roof” designs than white PVDF paints. The results are an impressive SRI ranging from 87.4 to 93. By contrast, PVDF paints may have an SRI anywhere from 82 to as low as 67. For more information, visit lorin.com/Architectural.
