David Weekley Homes, one of the largest privately held national home builders, announced the winners of its 17th annual National Preferred Partner Survey. The award recognizes field and manufacturing partners that have consistently operated at world-class levels, as determined by the home builder’s supplier evaluation platform.

This comprehensive process, anchored by the National Preferred Partner Survey, evaluates companies in the areas of quality and customer service. A total of 140 companies were evaluated this year and 18% achieved the designation of National Preferred Partner.

“This past year has presented an unexpected number of challenges for the home building industry," said John Schiegg, vice president of national accounts for David Weekley Homes. "At David Weekley Homes, we have been fortunate to have exceptional National Preferred Partners who provided their products and expertise during an unprecedented time. They have helped us navigate these obstacles to continue delivering a high-quality product."

Every year, David Weekley Homes celebrates the Preferred Partners that have exceeded expectations throughout the previous year. The following 12 manufacturer partners are recognized as National Preferred Partners:

  • DuPont
  • GAF
  • James Hardie
  • Johns Manville
  • Moen
  • Owens Corning
  • Ox Engineered Products
  • Rheem
  • Rubbermaid
  • Trane
  • Uponor
  • Weyerhaeuser

“In a dynamic year for our industry, our team has remained resilient and committed to delivering innovation and helping our customers win in the market,” said Mike Swift, vice president and general manager of North American Building Insulation, Owens Corning. “We are honored to once again to receive this distinction from David Weekley Homes, which highlights our strong partnerships throughout the channel.”

For the category honoring field partners as National Preferred Partners, the following 11 are recognized:

  • 84 Lumber Company
  • Beacon Building Products
  • BMC Building Materials
  • Builder’s Insulation
  • Contract Lumber
  • Hart Lumber
  • HomeTeam Pest Defense
  • Installed Building Products
  • L&W Supply Co.
  • Lanehart Electrical
  • SRS Distribution

“We are thankful for our relationship with David Weekley Homes and we are honored to be recognized as a 2021 National Preferred Partner," said Jeremy Goldschmeding, executive vice president of the Building Products Division of SRS. "David Weekley’s strong commitment to excellence extends throughout their organization, and this award illustrates that 'SRS Delivers' by successfully servicing homebuyers across the nation. We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with a common goal of delivering the best products on-time while providing the finest customer experience possible.”

In addition, the builder honored Sherwin-Williams with the Gold Star Award. This new award recognizes an outstanding supplier that has gone above and beyond in their partnership with David Weekley Homes.

A Unique Year

The National Preferred Partner Survey format was updated in 2020 to a system of two questions with a 1-to-5 rating system for partners and is sent to David Weekley Homes team members that are currently doing business with them in their market. When the Preferred Partners receive their quarterly results, they are shown how they rank amongst National Preferred Partners in their industry as well as the contact information for each David Weekley Homes team member who completed an evaluation for them.

The evaluation process involves a comprehensive system of feedback and discussion that enables David Weekley Homes to measure excellence among all established trade partners and their channel partners. Providers that receive the highest scores throughout the year are presented with the prestigious National Preferred Partners Award.

Many companies that partner with David Weekley Homes have garnered multiple and consecutive awards. By aligning with companies such as GAF, who has been recognized for excellence in products and services many times, David Weekley Homes is pursuing world-class excellence.

“2020 and 2021 were very unique years,” said Schiegg. “Record numbers of home sales, a global pandemic, a major freeze and significant supply chain disruptions have resulted in the perfect storm — demand that far exceeds supply. We are so grateful that National Preferred Partners like GAF have provided their expertise and guidance. They have made it possible for us to continue to provide the best in design, choice and service to our customers, despite the challenges.”
