Commercial roofing jobs are still in demand, but the entire sector of the industry has slowed in recent months as workforce issues are only exacerbated by a shortage in critical materials. Contractors relying on backlog to keep them going during the summer months may have some difficulty in the fall, warned Trent Cotney, CEO of Cotney Attorneys & Consultants, in his latest Legal Insights video with RC.

“I do see clouds on the horizon,” he said. “The demand is still there, but when you have a workforce problem and a materials problem, it’s starting to impact the bottom line.”

Cotney also covered the recent IRS guidance on COVID-19 related tax credits for sick and family leave, cybersecurity, and the insurance costs associated with the early start to storm season.
