National Roofing Week 2019 Kicks Off
ROSEMONT, Ill. – National Roofing Week 2019 is happening this week to raise awareness of the significance of roofs to every home and business.
Organized by the National Roofing Contractors Association, National Roofing Week is held each year during the first full week of June and serves as a reminder that the roof is one of the most important components of every structure. It is the first line of defense against natural elements, such as rain, snow or wind, yet it often is taken for granted until it falls into disrepair.
National Roofing Week also promotes the good deeds of the roofing industry and stresses the value of professional roofing contractors and the importance of making informed decisions about maintaining or replacing any roof system. During National Roofing Week, NRCA encourages its members to participate by engaging in their communities and informing the public about the essential role roofs and professional roofing contractors play in every community.
In the spirit of National Roofing Week, NRCA has teamed with Showalter Roofing Service Inc., Naperville, Ill., for a charity project in the local community. Showalter Roofing Service was presented with the seventh annual CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award in February in recognition of its generosity and community service. On June 8, Showalter Roofing Service and NRCA will work to improve two properties for Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, Ill.
Rep. Sean Casten of Illinois is expected to kick off the day with a few remarks supporting community involvement and the roofing industry.
“The roofing industry contributes thousands of hours of service to our neighbors and communities each year,” says NRCA COO McKay Daniels. “We’re pleased to be partnering with Showalter Roofing Service. The roof is the first line of protection from the elements for all we hold dear, and these veterans have stood as our nation’s protectors during times of trouble. During National Roofing Week, dozens of similar service projects will be occurring across the nation. We’re honored to give back to those who have given so much to this country.”
