Martin Joins Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance as Director of Small Business Programs
In its continued efforts to help small business and minority business contractors obtain new and more challenging contracting projects, Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance has hired Cynthia K. Martin as its Director of Small Business Programs.
BEACHWOOD, Ohio – In its continued efforts to help small business and minority business contractors obtain new and more challenging contracting projects, Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance has hired Cynthia K. Martin as its Director of Small Business Programs.
Martin will work closely with federal agencies to promote opportunities for small business diversity; manage a targeted outreach program for small business and minority business classifications; and assist in developing technical, managerial and price proposals while acting as the company’s in-house advocate for small business.
“Cindy’s knowledge and record of accomplishment make her the right person to take Tremco Roofing’s support for small business and minority business contractors to the next level,” said Margaret (Peg) Grayson, the company’s Vice President of Management and Compliance.
Martin has more than 30 years of experience in government accounting, budget, purchasing and contracting, much of it with the Department of Defense. She joined Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance from Tol-Test, Inc., an award-winning DoD contractor headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, where for the last 5½ years she served as global Director of Procurement. While at Tol-Test, she was instrumental in helping the company receive The Society of American Military Engineers’ (SAME) prestigious 2010 Large Business Award for outstanding small business subcontracting performance in support of Department of Defense programs. At Tol-Test she was also crucial in developing a web-based “plan room” repository that houses over 6,000 prequalified subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
Martin retired from the military in 2006 after serving over 25 years in the United States Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from the University of Findlay, a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Lourdes College and three Associates degrees.
She has also earned Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Level III Certification in Contracting from the Defense Acquisition University and passed the Certified Purchasing Professional and Certified Professional Purchasing Manager tests through the American Purchasing Society.
