Polyurea Hybrid Coating
September 26, 2003
Volatile Free Inc., Brookfield, Wis., announces the development of VFI 540/540FR, a new coating to rejuvenate, repair and protect roofs. This new polyurea hybrid coating offers facility managers and building owners a selection of color finishes to add new life to an aged roof. It is fast setting, spray-applied with 96 percent solids volume. The coating has aluminum and copper coloring. When applied, the color remains bright and lustrous like the metal it is designed to emulate. Then, over a long period of time, the glossy metallic finish will naturally age but still retain the appearance of real metal. Physical properties include high abrasion resistance (85+ Shore A), 300 percent elongation, tensile strength of 1,500 psi and 125-pli tear resistance.
