RoofMarketplace Launches Market-Based Roof Claim Pricing Tool
Total Roof Price uses competitive contractor bids to establish a guaranteed project price

RoofMarketplace has introduced Total Roof Price, a claims-pricing tool that uses competitive bids from local roofing contractors to establish a guaranteed replacement price for an entire roof or individual slope.
The company said the platform is designed to give insurance carriers a market-based alternative to relying solely on estimating software and static line-item pricing. The project price includes materials, labor, permits and roofing components and is supported by real-time bids submitted through RoofMarketplace’s contractor network.
Rather than replacing carriers’ existing estimating systems, Total Roof Price is intended to work within current claims workflows. Adjusters receive a single project price backed by contractor bids, which RoofMarketplace said could reduce negotiations over individual line items and help move claims toward restoration more quickly.
Policyholders receive as many as three bids from local contractors that RoofMarketplace has vetted for licensing, insurance coverage, background checks, customer ratings and manufacturer certifications. Homeowners can compare the bids and select a contractor through the platform.
“For years, the industry has had to bridge the gap between estimated pricing and actual replacement costs,” said Gwen Olson, chief strategy officer at RoofMarketplace. “Total Roof Price brings those two much closer together by grounding claim settlement in real market competition.”
RoofMarketplace also manages projects through completion and provides carriers with market-backed pricing data.
