GMS Inc. has acquired the assets of Peridot Supply, an Ontario distributor of roofing and building envelope materials, effective May 15.

Peridot operates three locations in Brampton, Ottawa, and Dorchester, Ontario, supplying flat roofing, steep-slope roofing, insulation, wall products and related accessories.

GMS operates more than 320 distribution centers across the United States and Canada, along with nearly 100 tool sales, rental and service centers. The company is a subsidiary of SRS Distribution, which is owned by The Home Depot.

Paul Green, president of GMS Canada, said the acquisition is expected to expand the company’s roofing distribution capabilities and support growing customer demand. “The Peridot team has served the building industry well and offers a complete package of roofing construction materials,” he said.

Doug Brown and SVP Douglas Brown, along with their senior leadership group, are expected to continue to lead the business, operating under the Peridot brand name while integrating closely with GMS's service brands in Canada.

“Our business was built on family values and a passion for customer service,” Brown said.
