Pittsburgh-based Burns & Scalo Roofing Co. Inc. announced that it has entered into an asset purchase agreement with Voegele Roofing Co. Inc. in the first quarter of 2021.

Voegele Co. Inc. is an installer of industrial and commercial roofing products including metal roofing, single-ply rubber roofing, and single-ply thermoplastic roofing. A Pittsburgh-based family company much like Burns & Scalo, Voegele has operated since 1943 and serves the Greater Pittsburgh area and parts of central Pennsylvania.

“This is a strategic investment to continue growing our commercial roofing replacement and repair-maintenance business,” said Burns & Scalo CEO Jack Scalo.

Burns & Scalo will hire certain employees and acquire selected assets of Voegele. Although Voegele will discontinue its roofing business, it will continue other business operations and retain other assets. Voegele has endorsed Burns & Scalo to provide future services for its customers.

“Current customers of Voegele can expect the same great level of service and detail they’ve been receiving from the Voegele team for decades,” Scalo said. “We’re excited to offer them our entire suite of services including repair and maintenance, master service agreements, metal wall panels, sheet metal, and of course, solar rooftop and ground mount options.”

This news comes in the year that Burns & Scalo celebrates their 65th anniversary (1956-2021).
