In light of the challenges caused by the pandemic, the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA) has made Certified Roofing Torch Applicator (CERTA) training available online.

Contractors can save time and money by using the new MRCA Online CERTA Training Program, allowing employees to earn their CERTA Applicator Training from the comfort of their own offices. Online training provides greater flexibility for workers while also avoiding traveling and social distancing concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Instructors will be on hand to answer questions during the training.

CERTA training is for contractors whose work involves torching, such as for modified bitumen applications. The program trains roofing workers on the safe and proper design and application techniques to focus on fire-safe installations. When certified, contractors can establish greater confidence in customers, ensure workers are safe when torching, and comply with the requirements of municipalities and insurance companies.

Pre-scheduled dates and private training sessions are available in both English and Spanish. Visit the MRCA's website for more information and to register.
