National Women in Roofing (NWIR), a national organization focused on the empowerment of women within the roofing industry, announced the award of funding from The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress. Granted $20,000 over the next two years, NWIR will use the funds as part of start-up costs for the emerging association.

NWIR strives to provide an opportunity for women and men, new and established, to find ongoing success working in the roofing industry.

Incorporated in February of 2016, NWIR has retained association management and filed for 501c status.  The Alliance funds are the first funding obtained by the new association as they launch a sponsorship drive in June of 2016. The sponsorship drive will be branded the Founding Sponsorship as an early opportunity that will invite roofing industry organizations, companies and individuals to donate $10,000 annually to support the recruitment, mentoring, education and networking of women in the roofing profession.

NWIR has created a strong foundation of bylaws, processes and procedures that are built around the following goals:

Mentoring – Mentor and empower women in the roofing industry towards excellence in their chosen career
Education – Create high-quality learning programs and experiences for men and women to build successful businesses and careers for both genders
Networking – Provide opportunities to meet women in the roofing industry, creating strong, long-lasting networks
Recruiting – Reach beyond traditional recruitment to enable and promote careers in the roofing industry to current and future workers

Sponsorship funding including Alliance dollars will be used for the development of an association website, overall communications, database development and most importantly ongoing education, mentoring, recruiting and networking opportunities.  All are invited to participate in this exciting new organization.  For more information and opportunities available, visit www.nationalwomeninroofing.com.
