Metal RoofingRoofing Technology

Product Focus: Metal Fabricating

September 9, 2014

Portable Rollforming System

MetalForming

Quadro Plus combines the best aspects of German engineering and American market savvy. The engineers at Schlebach initially designed a top-quality, single-profile rollformer, but the folks at MetalForming Inc. knew that to meet the requirements of American metal-roofing contractors, they needed a machine that could produce different roof-panel profiles quickly and efficiently, in a factory or out on a jobsite. The result was Quadro Plus, the only machine of its kind in the world with instant changeover from one profile to another by simply rotating tooling cassettes. For more information, visit www.metalforming-usa.com.

Hydraulic Bending Equipment

Formtek

Roto-Die’s unique hydraulic benders are an industry standard in sheet metal shops throughout the United States. Each sheet metal brake is a versatile, economical, productive tool. By shifting the selection lever, a single operator can perform all basic sheet-metal forming operations; no dies to change. Roto-Die hydraulic sheet-metal bending equipment is typically used for perimeter edge materials such as fascia and coping, as well as flashing. Common applications include hemming, standing lock, gravel stop and valley. For more information, visit www.roto-die.com.

Rollforming Control Systems

AMS Controls

AMS Controls offers rollforming control systems, folding machine control systems and office-to-floor production management software. The company’s experts can help users find the best solutions for their applications, making operations more profitable, less wasteful and safer. The controls are easy to use for minimal operator training. For more information, visit www.amscontrols.com.

Roof Panel Machine

New Tech Machinery

The New Tech Machinery SSQ MultiPro Roof Panel Machine is an advanced, accurate, multi-profile roof panel machine. Change tooling in 45 minutes or less with one wrench; no tape measure. Available now on the SSQ: 1-inch and 1½-inch flush wall/underdeck/soffit panel profile. This flush wall profile will run up to 22-gauge steel. Hot melt sealant interface available for application and offers a reveal from 0 to 3 inches in 1/2-inch increments. Also offers a non-powered perforator option. Visit New Tech Machinery at METALCON 2014 in Booth #606. For more information, visit www.newtechmachinery.com.

Rotary Shear

P&P Power

The VING rotary shear by P&P Power Inc. is one of the most versatile cutters on the market. It cuts up to .080-inch aluminum, 20-gauge steel and stainless steel, 24-gauge raised ribbed steel and stone-coated metal roofing, as well as many other materials. It leaves a smooth-cut finish without the issues associated with flying metal chips, sparks and heat buildup that are common. The VING has a forward/reverse variable speed switch that can be slowed to a crawl for precision cuts. The cutting wheels are made of high-quality tool steel that do not require replacement for a minimum of one year. For more information, visit www.pandppower.com.

Folding Machine

RAS Systems

RAS XL-Center is a folding innovation for light-gauge sheet-metal profiles for the roofing and architectural industry. With 126-inch folding length and 16-gauge mild steel capacity, the machine offers technical excellence. The XL-Center folds flanges up and down with minimum operator involvement. Perfect for pre-coated materials, it easily closes hems to programmed dimensions, tapers parts automatically, and gives unlimited part design flexibility. The heart of the machine is the MultiTouch PC control. Touch the monitor to draw a part, and the software programs the part automatically. For more information, visit www.ras-systems.us.

Today’s Autobrake combines unparalleled speed and accuracy with the new ECS CNC control system. This system is capable of drag and draw graphics, auto-sequencing and downloading of DXF files. It is also available with the rotating KombiTM beam, mounting both straight and box tools at the same time, and permitting numerous shapes to be formed in a single set up.
