ATLANTA — Atlas Roofing Corp. announced a comprehensive limited warranty is available for its Techni-Flo™ Engineered Ventilation System for steep-sloped roofs.

The three Techni-Flo components: Techni-Flo RV, CrossVent® and Techni-Flo EV comprise the only complete ventilation system in the industry for steep-slope roofs. The Techni-Flo complete system now features a comprehensive warranty that covers manufacturing defects and resistance to fading and cracking on finishes as well as wind resistance up to 120 miles per hour and continued ventilation and thermal performance for 20 years.

The best way to optimize temperature on larger commercial roofs is to use a balanced system, a system where air intake matches air exhaust. If there is too much air intake or too little exhaust, the temperature cannot remain constant. Techni-Flo components are designed to work together to create balanced airflow for optimizing crawl space temperature.

The Techni-Flo Engineered Ventilation System is also a key system for green building projects. A properly ventilated commercial steep-slope roof would have the potential to assist project teams meet the building certification requirements for the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system due to the Techni-Flo system’s R-value and its potential to reduce heating and cooling loads.

The Techni-Flo system can also help project teams maintain the respective Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) credits and their requirements in LEED. A properly ventilated steep slope roof can help eliminate ice damming and the damage this can cause as roofing materials shift during freeze-thaw cycles.
