How Efficient Is Your Business?

July 12, 2010
Like many other roofing contractors, you may be looking for ways to simplify and streamline your operations, do more with fewer resources, and reduce expenses - all while continuing to maintain optimal customer service.

Like many other roofing contractors, you may be looking for ways to simplify and streamline your operations, do more with fewer resources, and reduce expenses - all while continuing to maintain optimal customer service.

Sage Timberline Enterprise gives you that efficiency by connecting your accounting, job management, estimating and service management work through one tightly integrated software system. Because the software spans your entire business, you enter information once and the data is available to any employee who needs it, security permitting. The software helps smooth your company’s workflow and gives you complete control over your business performance.

Manage your business’ financial health. At its core, Sage Timberline Enterprise offers you a comprehensive suite of accounting applications. You can easily track and report financials, speed up invoicing, quickly process receivables, proactively manage cash flow and more. You also have a variety of tools to analyze and monitor your business from every angle. You can even integrate with Microsoft Excel if you want to create charts, graphs or do further trend analysis.

Control projects and costs. Understanding exactly where you stand on each roofing job is critical. Sage Timberline Enterprise provides you with the most current job cost information as well as tools to manage contracts, change orders and other project documents. Create documents such as RFIs, transmittals and submittals, send them to the GC or suppliers and import their responses to eliminate manual data entry and streamline communication.

Keep track of materials. With easy access to your inventory items from anywhere in the software, your service manager, project manager or purchasing department can quickly view and pull inventory items real-time without ever having to leave their normal workflow. In addition, inventory items can be easily traced so you’ll always know which materials were used on which jobs.

Manage service and maintenance work. If your company also repairs and does maintenance on existing roofs, Sage Timberline Enterprise offers optional Service Management software. Service agreements are easy to create and change at any time, and you can quickly set up schedules for preventative maintenance. The software’s state-of-the-art Dispatch Board gives you full control over the scheduling of your service and maintenance work and does an automatic skill check to ensure that the technician you assign has the right qualifications for the job.

Win more work. Now more than ever, competition for jobs is fierce. Your estimates have to be accurate, timely and competitive. Sage Timberline Enterprise’s optional Estimating application gives you that edge with a variety of takeoff and analytical tools to improve your chance of winning profitable work. When you win the job, your estimator only needs to approve the estimate and the job is automatically created for cost-to-budget comparisons.

Connect to field staff. The software’s open design links to popular remote and mobile solutions. Using laptops, tablet PCs, cell phones, and other mobile web-enabled devices, project managers and field staff can easily track and share employee time worked, and retrieve, update and process service work orders.

Sage Timberline Enterprise is designed specifically for roofing and specialty contractors. It is part of a full line of Sage products for construction contractors, including Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting for Construction, Sage Peachtree Quantum, Sage Master Builder and Sage Timberline Office.
