Green Roof Technology in Arizona
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Featuring 23 acres of landscaping on a 13-acre, resort-style condominium community site, Optima Camelview Village brings green rooftop design to Scottsdale, Ariz. Optima Camelview’s green roof system, which absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen into the atmosphere, uses indigenous plants that can survive intense climate changes more successfully than the sedum and grasses used in common green roofs, the company reports. Optima Camelview’s green roofs are also efficient insulators, working to keep the condos cool during Arizona’s hot summers and warm in the winter. The verdant foliage makes for a stormwater management system and the surrounding trees provide natural shading throughout the community.
